Leadership Logan

Logan County, rich in heritage, tradition and natural beauty, offers residents an array of services, entertainment, and opportunities for growth and fellowship. From Logan County’s original land mass, 28 counties have been formed in whole or in part; regional, state, and national leaders have emerged; the Great Revival of 1800 took place; a colony of Shakers made their home; colleges were formed; rich soils have resulted in a strong agricultural economy; four incorporated cities have grown in size and diversity, and we are now making our way through the 21st Century.

 

Come, learn about the great wealth of natural resources, people, and organizations that make the quality of life in Logan County second to none!  Leadership Logan is for the individual who wants to:

  • Learn more about Logan County

  • Help improve our quality of life

  • Evaluate the climate for doing business

  • Become more involved and informed

  • Work with a spirit of unity and cooperation

  • toward the overall goal of preservation and progress

Session Information

Each student will be required to attend eight all-day sessions, one half-day Leadership session, and one all day orientation. There will also be a lunch-time graduation ceremony. We will aYou will also be required to attend six government and/or civic meetings throughout the class year. Organizational meetings, in which the students are already involved, do not count toward the six meetings. You will also be responsible for a service project, planned and implemented by your entire class, to benefit Logan County in some way. Transportation is carpooling. Lunch will be provided for every all-day session. The fee per participant will be $400.00. The Chamber reserves the right to alter this schedule. 

Youth Leadership Logan

Youth Leadership Logan is a program coordinated by the Logan County Chamber of Commerce. This once a month all-day class learning sessions offer a vast array of county history, community awareness, economic insight, and entrepreneurship experience is taught from local businesses and individuals who play a significant role in our county. 

Youth Leadership Logan runs concurrently with the school year. Educational sessions are typically held on the third Thursday of each month, August through April.  All-day sessions deal with topics such as community activism and awareness, agriculture, tourism, history, entrepreneurship, small business, government and judicial, health and human services, chamber and economic development, environment, etc.  Each class is as unique as the businesses and industries that are toured.
