Adult Sports
Men's (Open/Church) Softball League
Fee for either league is $300.00. Registration and games begin in April. Team trophy and t-shirts will be awarded to the 1st place team and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive a team trophy.
Fall Coed Softball League
Games will begin in September. Registration fee is $300.00. Team trophy and t-shirts will be awarded to the 1st place team and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive a team trophy. Deadline to have roster/fee will be in Mid-August.
Youth Sports
Summer Youth League
Teeball, Softeeball, Coach-Pitch and Girls Fast Pitch.
Jr. Pro and Flag Football
Registration for both leagues will be held at the Recreation Center in August each year.
The fee is $30 for flag (3rd & 4th grade) and $40 for Jr. Pro (5th & 6th grade). Jr. Pro players need to present at sign-ups for equipment fitting.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading for Flag & Jr. Pro Football will be held in August each year.
Flag is for 3rd and 4th graders and Jr. Pro is 5th and 6th graders. The fee is $30 and includes t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, and pom-poms.
Fall Soccer
Fall Soccer sign-ups will be held in August each year.
The fee for Fall Soccer is $30.
Programs
Walking Program
The gym will be open for walkers Monday through Friday:
Morning Hours 7:00-8:30 AM
Lunch Hours 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Evening Hours 5:00 - 6:00 PM (no Fridays)
Country Western Dancing
Various styles of country dances will be taught. Classes are held at the Sportsman Club Building at the City Park on Tuesday evening for beginners from 7:00-9:00 PM and more advanced classes on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM. Fee for the classes is $4.00 per class.
USA Tennis 1,2,3
Two sessions will be offered for persons eight years old and older. Each session consist of 8 lessons, one hour each on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels will be offered. The program will begin the first of June. The fee is $30.00.
Middle School Friday Night Activities
A night of FUN for students in grades 5 - 8 will be held once a month during the school year from 7-9:30 PM at the Recreation Center. There will be a boys 3 on 3 basketball tournament, fun and games, board games, and movies for students to enjoy.
Middle School Dances
The Russellville Park Department and the Optimist Club will sponsor dances for children in grades 5 - 8 at the Sportsman Club Building at the City Park from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. Admission is $3.00 per student. Please call the Parks & Recreation office for future dates 270-726-5033.
Koffee & Krayons
Enjoy quality activities that are geared for children ages 2-5 years old. Mothers will be provided time to interact with other mothers in a social setting while the children engage in developmental games and crafts. The program will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and the Recreation Center from 10:00 - 11:30 AM.
Summer Day Camp
Parks and Recreation will sponsor a Day Camp for children ages 5 to 12 years. Held at Hampton park on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Starts May 24th.
Karate Class
Karate classes are open to all ages. Classes are held on Monday and Thursday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Recreation Center. Fee $20.00 per month. The instructor is Lonnie Sandlin. Phone 725-9005.
Body Awareness
A physical fitness program for adults who wish to improve muscle tone and flexibility or people in a recuperative phase. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at the Recreation Center.
Senior Activities
Rook Tournaments
Rook Tournaments for Seniors 55 and over start at 9:00 AM at the Sportsman Club at the City Park. For more information contact the Parks Dept. at 270-726-5033.
Russellville-Logan County Senior Games
Local games take place at the Russellville-Logan County Memorial Park in September. Exact date to be announced. Anyone wishing to participate can obtain entry forms at all Logan County Senior Centers and the Parks & Rec. office. Awards will be given to first, second, and third place winners in each age/gender category.
Senior Citizen Day & Health Fair
A Senior Citizen Day and Health Fair sponsored by the Logan County Senior Centers and the Russellville Parks & Recreation will be held at the Russellville-Logan County Memorial Park. All Senior adults 55 and up are invited to participate in a day of fun and activities. FREE HEALTH SCREENING will be held on site.
