Crossroads-The Church at Logan County Women’s Ministry is hosting a Women’s Conference on Saturday, April 12, 2008. “What Is Your Spiritual Aroma?” – this conference is a day for all women intended to bring life and hope to all through God’s word. The conference will feature Lifeway Christian leader, Betsy Langmade as speaker and singer / songwriter Kathleen Carnali for praise and worship. In order to meet their deadline for catering Crossroads asks that you contact them by Wednesday, April 9, 2008 to pre-order tickets. Served in the 1869 Shaker Tavern Bed and Breakfast, the meal will be offered on Saturday, May 24 at noon CT. Reservations are required and are available on a first come, first served basis.
The hearty late 19th century menu is typical of what would have been served at South Union’s famous railroad hotel, and includes: dressed lettuce; turkey with cranberry sauce; baked macaroni and cheese; tomatoes; green peas with pearl onions; homemade applesauce; bread and desserts.

The day begins with a Flag Ceremony commemorating Flag Day, 9am, at the Bibb House, West Eighth Street, Russellville. Walking tour showcases Historic Russellville and includes trolley rides, museum and church tours. Gardening seminars and a silent auction will also take place. Nationally known author Linda Hawkins will be conducting a book signing. Locally and nationally known artists will have work displayed at the gardens. A Discussion of Religion, June 16-17, 2007, at the Red River Meeting House, located between Russellville & Adairville, in Schochoh. This event commemorates the 207th anniversary of The Great Revival. Topics of discussion include: religion and longhunters, an 18th century view of religion, revivals of the 18th century, oxen driving demostrations and other info and presentations. The discussion begins at 10am on the 16th, with period church services at 7pm featuring a sermon from Barton W. Stone as reenacted by Doc Muzzy. A period correct Sacramental service will be held at 10am on Sunday the 17th. Documentation for the Sunday Sacramental service comes directly from a Scottish Presbyterian sermon book published in 1793. Camping is encouraged with areas for either primitive or modern camping.
